Bolt connection
Bolt connection is one of the common connection methods between motorcycle frame and body cover. This method pre-designs the corresponding mounting holes on the frame and cover, and then uses bolts and nuts to fasten the two together. Bolt connection has the advantages of firm connection and high reliability, and can withstand large external forces to ensure that the body cover will not easily loosen or fall off during the driving of the motorcycle. At the same time, bolt connection is easy to disassemble and install, which is convenient for later repair and maintenance of the vehicle. For example, when the body cover needs to be replaced or the frame needs to be repaired, the two can be separated more conveniently. However, bolt connection also has some shortcomings, such as too many bolts may increase the weight of the vehicle body, and if improperly installed, the bolts may loosen, generate noise and even affect driving safety.
Clip connection
The clip connection is a relatively simple connection method. It uses the elastic deformation of the clip to clip the body cover into the slot or buckle position on the frame, thereby fixing the two. The advantages of the clip connection are quick installation, no need to use tools, and can improve production efficiency and reduce production costs. Moreover, the snap connection will not leave obvious installation marks on the surface of the vehicle body, making the vehicle appearance more neat and beautiful. However, the strength of the snap connection is relatively low, and it is generally suitable for parts that are subjected to less external force, such as some decorative covers or parts that do not require high connection strength. During long-term use, the snaps may become loose or damaged due to frequent vibrations, and need to be checked and replaced regularly.
Glue bonding
Glue bonding is to apply special glue to the contact surface between the frame and the body cover, and the two are firmly combined together through the adhesive force of the glue. This connection method can make the connection between the cover and the frame tighter, and can effectively prevent dust, moisture, etc. from entering the gap between the two, and improve the sealing of the vehicle. At the same time, glue bonding can make the surface of the vehicle body smoother and smoother, and improve the appearance quality of the vehicle. However, the irreversibility of glue bonding makes it difficult to disassemble later once the bonding is completed, which is not conducive to repair and replacement of parts. Moreover, the quality of the glue and the bonding process have a great influence on the connection effect. If the glue performance is poor or the bonding is not strong, it may cause the cover to fall off, affecting the normal use of the vehicle.
Welding connection
In the manufacture of some motorcycles, the frame and some body panels are also connected by welding, especially for some metal panels. Welding connection can achieve permanent fixation between the frame and the panel, and the connection strength is extremely high, which can ensure that neither of them will move relative to each other under any circumstances. This connection method can make the overall structure of the vehicle more stable and improve the safety and reliability of the vehicle. However, welding connection requires professional equipment and technicians to operate, and after welding, it will cause certain damage to the surface of the frame and the panel, which requires subsequent treatment to prevent rust and corrosion. In addition, once the welding connection is completed, it is almost impossible to disassemble and modify, so the connection position and method need to be accurately planned during the design and manufacturing stages.
